Inherited tradition

The wine origins of the Grati family date back to the early 1900s. It was Antonio Grati in 1917 who started the production of wines and liqueurs. This was then continued by his sons Federico and Giulio, the latter who would go on to become founder of Le Coste. His work was then continued by his son (named after his grandfather) Antonio Grati who was succeeded by his son, Giuliano,. He was helped in running the business by his father Antonio and his father-in-law Vittorio Pandolfi, son of the founder of the Cantine Pandolfi in Rufina.

The company is located within the 'Chianti Rufina', a hilly area with a temperate microclimate, where an excellent DOC (D'Origine Contrôlée) Chianti is produced.
